About this map

For fishing reference only. Not for navigation.

The shoreline and islands follow a scanned lake chart, turned so north is up. A photograph of the chart helped read its handwriting, and the camp’s property map places the camp.

Some handwritten notes on the chart are hard to read. They are listed under Source review with their original note numbers, and no fish species is given for them.

Camp-provided fishing spots are added by the camp, separately from the chart’s notes. Their species symbols mark positions on the lake and are not checked against the original chart. No depths, seasons or conditions are given. The counts include only readable chart notes and camp-provided spots; a spot shared by two species appears once on the map and in the All locations count. Source review keeps all 19 original notes.

Depth units are not known. Numbers are shown as printed; they are not labelled feet or metres.
Pike or perch. Some handwritten marks could mean either, so those spots are not given a species. Notes that clearly read “Per” are shown separately, as perch.
The western end is cut off. The map shows all of the chart, without inventing the rest of the shoreline.
Area outlines mark where notes are. They are not surveyed fishing boundaries. In Source review, numbered markers and selected outlines show where each original note was written. Trees are illustrations, not a record of what grows there.
Bass type not known. The smallmouth and largemouth pictures show the two kinds side by side; neither is confirmed in the chart’s notes or the camp-provided spots.
The pictures are illustrations. The fish and trees are computer-generated, and the cottage is drawn after the camp’s property map, not an exact model.
The camp marker is approximate. It follows the arrow on the chart; the exact position on the shore is not confirmed.
The chart has limits. Handwriting hides parts of the depth lines, and printed chart information may be out of date.
